IV. Images and Links - top

Why you should to use "Images and Links" instead insert Image inside article content?

  • This new Article Images feature is yet another powerful tool that makes Joomla more user-friendly than ever: Now it's easier than ever to use Joomla as a blog, news site, or photo gallery. If you're familiar with WordPress, this is similar to the Featured Image that you can set for each post. It enables your site to have a clean & consistent look on your Category Blog pages, without having to bother with styling & aligning images inside the text editor. Of course, you can still use the text editor for images if you like.

How to use "Images and Links"?

In previous versions of Joomla, adding images to articles had to be done through the text editor. But now with Joomla 3, you'll notice a new pane on the right of the article called Images and Links. This feature enables you to insert two images into your article: One in the intro, and another in the main body.

Step 1 : You go to manager of the article you want to add images. If you not insert images into tab " Image and Link ":

Intro Article

Main Article

Step 2 : Choose tab " Image and Link ", select image for " Intro Image".

Intro Article

Main Article (No Image)

Image Float: Controls placement of the image.

Image Float = Left

Image Float = Right

Step 3 : Choose tab " Image and Link ", select image for "Full article image".
